I always had confidence issues 🤦. Although I had a passion to try new crazy things, I wasn’t sure if I can do it successfully. I was scared if I will fail and get publicly humiliated.
The lack of confidence haunted me for most of my life until I decided to do something about it. I decided to put myself in uncomfortable situations (sometimes without knowing!)
In high school, I joined the student representative council, became a peer tutor, a school tour guide, and helped run student events.
In university, I ran English Conversation Groups, became an executive in several student clubs, went to networking events (even when I don’t want to talk to people and prefer to hang around the food area), started a business earlier than expected, spoke in front of a lot of people (a big step for a severe introvert like me).
I did a lot of crazy things but after doing them, it is not as scary as I thought. I wouldn’t have known this if I didn’t try.
What I want you to take away from this post is that being in your comfort zone does not make your situation BETTER. In fact, it doesn’t do anything significant or make you MORE successful. You need to jump out of your comfort zone to improve as a person as well as to have an awesome life.
We are all capable. You need to BELIEVE in yourself.
