There was no sound.

There was no physical contact.

There was no physical image

but the text on a social networking platform.

The words that was typed

and sent

were hurtful.

So hurtful

that I felt

a sting like pain

in my chest.

My body stopped being calm.

A sudden change in mood.

A transformation

from okay to uncomfortable.

Words hurt.

Mean words hurt.

Sometimes you don’t need to hear it

to be affected by it.

A text message,

a message on Facebook,

a written message

near the doorstep

is enough to impact you.

It is enough to throw yourself

into a emotional breakdown.

Words certainly hurt.

Be cautious of what you say

and what you type

on the computer

or phone.

You have no idea

how the person

you communicate with

will interpret your text.

And how it can impact them.

One word can mentally

kill someone.

One word can motivate someone

to end their life.

One word can motivate oneself

to lose hope in themselves

Be careful what you say.

This reminds me of the lyrics of one of Selena Gomez’s songs;

Your lies are bullets
Your mouth’s a gun
And no war in anger
Was ever won

    1. Thank you so much for your kind comment, Mr Righteousbruin9! Unfortunately, it is from someone I cannot avoid – whom I have both feelings of good and bad. It is inevitable. Just hope as age levels up, the ability to understand other people’s feelings is more prominent! It is a wise way to act in a self-righteous manner, I praise you for that! 🙂
