A family friend passed away last month. What remains is the memories I had with her, not the body that was once alive and what once pumped blood. I guess it is a hard fact to digest – that one day death will visit us like it visited my family friend.
Death is often not thought about and if thought, it is negatively perceived and would tell whoever mentions it to speak something more pleasant. In reality, unpleasantness is the reality of this world. We are born, not with luxury but with pain, so will we depart this world with pain. Pain is everywhere. Be transparent, call pain to what is actually pain. Never glorify and praise something which is in reality, impermanent and painful.
